“We Will Not Be Tamed” Campaign
Cause-Driven Brand & Partner Strategy

The Big Picture

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) needed a campaign that went beyond the usual conservation donor base. They wanted to reach people who loved the outdoors but weren’t already engaged with the organization. We Will Not Be Tamed was built to do exactly that—and it’s still going strong today.

My Role

I worked as a communications and marketing consultant to help bring the We Will Not Be Tamed campaign to life. From brand messaging to creative partnerships, I helped make sure the campaign resonated emotionally and strategically with a wider, younger, and culturally aware audience.

What I Delivered

  • Messaging strategy for the campaign website, newsletters, and social media

  • Collaborated with corporate partners including Toyota, Tito’s Vodka, Howler Bros, Ramblr, and YETI

  • Helped shape the strategy and execution of a year long branded content partnership with Texas Monthly

  • Worked closely with ambassadors to help shape how they spoke about the campaign publicly

  • Supported logistics and communications for live events across Texas

The Impact

This campaign helped TPWF move beyond the traditional conservation echo chamber and into the broader cultural conversation. It built a bridge to new audiences who cared about the outdoors—but didn’t yet have a relationship with the organization. It’s still one of the Foundation’s most visible and impactful initiatives today.

Why It Matters

Campaigns like this are about connection, not just visibility. By aligning with brands and voices outside the traditional conservation sphere, we helped TPWF reach a whole new generation of supporters.
